The Starting Line to Victory
So we setup the second cabinet a few months back, the only part missing was a loom from the back of the cabinet to the coin tower. As this was part of a twin cabinet it meant the master cabinet was primary wired, since my cabinet was a slave it didn’t have the coin tower or leads we had to see what we could acquire. From what we knew there was 3 parts to get in order to get the VTS board to work, the reason to use this board is not for the coin system but the volume pot. Without the VTS board running the game would play with no sound, the game can run on freeplay so no need to worry about a coin mech system.
- VTS-STW-U Credit Board
First we needed to track down a VTS credit board, we ended up picking up a VTS-HOD credit board. This isn’t the correct board but wil work temporary as the only difference is the degauss button.
- Wiring Loom from Cabinet to coin box (TOF6100UK)
This came from the owner of the master cabinet who didn’t need the loom, so this was a easy solution and fix.
- Coin Tower Loom (TOF0300UK)
This is the loom that connects the above wiring loom to the VTS credit board, most of the time these are prewired inside a coin tower so rarely removed. Hunting around the with collectors, eBay and various forums turned up no loom. So the final option was to build a loom! Having never done this before was some trial and error (actually very little error) but we got all the parts and a friend helped translate the wiring diagram we have from UK manual and we built the loom.
So all complete we plugged the loom up and powered the cabinet and we now have full sound of the Super Eurobeat playlist!
